As a professional musician, having a great in-ear monitor system is essential for hearing myself and the band properly on stage. I’ve tried many universal fit monitors over the years but have never found them comfortable enough for extended wear. So when I heard about Westone’s custom molded EAS20 in-ear monitors, I knew I had to give them a try.
Getting impressions made and ordering the EAS20 monitors was simple through my local audiologist. When they arrived a few weeks later, I was stunned. The earpieces fit like a glove – I barely felt them in my ears at all! Yet they formed an incredible seal that blocked stage noise better than any universal monitors I’ve tried.
But it’s the sound quality that really blew me away. The EAS20’s dual balanced armature drivers pump out amazing audio. The crisp highs let me hear every cymbal shimmer and guitar string pluck with detail I’ve never experienced before. Vocals cut through the mix cleanly and beautifully. And the tight low end provides a thunderous bass foundation when needed.
What truly makes the EAS20 unique is the ambient listening feature. With the changeable filters, I can adjust how much crowd noise and stage ambience blends with my main mix.
